I purchased this canoe last summer at a yard sale. The bough of the boat has a brass tag that says kennebec canoe company waterville Maine. I just had the canoe restored. It was a full restoration, painted red with a gold stripe. It is. 12 feet long. Please send any information on the canoe history and company history.

The Kennebec canoe with serial number 19513 is a 12 foot long Kennebec model type A as shown on page 111 of volume three in the Kennebec ledgers. It was planked by Cameron on October 1st, 1927. The canvas covering and the first filler coat was put on by Roy on October 8th, 1927. Thibadeau applied the second filler coat on October 22nd, 1927. The rails were applied by King on November 5th, 1927. The original color was red. It shipped to location "28-353" on April 27th, 1928. This location is probably an order number but we don't currently have enough information to identify it.
