Wooden Canoes are in the Blood
This w/c canoe is 37"wide x 10'long with a brass plate that reads "Peterborough Craft, model number 10.5". Is there any information out there on this manufacturer? Thanks.

Dave,

I suspect the brassplate you refer to is similar to the one in attached picture below. If so your canoe was likely built by the Peterborough Canoe Co.

Peterborough Canoe Co built a small canoe called the “MIDGE” with the measurements 10 ½ feet in length, 38 inch in beam, centre-depth 14 inch in the late 1920’s and early 1930’s. Would this fit with your canoe?

Peterborough Craft???

Thanks Dick. I haven't seen the canoe yet. Researching for a friend in who is in another town. Since he doesn't have a computer I will be mailing this information to him but it looks like you may have solved the mystery once again. What use were these canoes designed for?
