Penn Yan paint

I kind of know what the colors are like. But is there still somewhere I can look at original Penn Yan colors. Something for Cartoppers. Penn Yanboats.com doesn't have any examples on their site to look at. weren't most of them red or green. Maybe I should ask George Kirby?

George (from my experience) records his custom colors by customer name, not canoe manufacturer. It is likely that he might be able to suggest a "standard" color if it's one that is frequently used, but I've never been that lucky.

I've done a lot of Penn Yan boats over the years. I have one now in the shop. Actually, I don't like them to many screws, nuts and bolts.
Some people want the original colors and pin stripes and decals. I've picked up boats where the customer still has the 30 year old penn yan paint can. I'll check with George this week. Thanks, Dave

Sandusky Paints in Ohio replicates colors for many vintage boat companies. Their website doesn't list Penn Yan, but it might be worth a call.
