For what it's worth Chris, Jack and Andy both said red and yellow are tough! Personally I've taken up yoga to deal with the stress. Sometimes I enlist the help of Jack Daniels.

Light colors always require additional faring of the hull to look good. The Old Town catalogs from 1903 to 1944 listed an extra charge for white canoes. The 1919 catalog page below has more details about the costs for white, letters, and stripes.
