OP OP K kelloggor New Member Sep 5, 2006 #3 thanks Thanks for the info. Are there color samples or paint codes to match it exactly?
MikeCav Restorer/Videographer Sep 5, 2006 #4 Take a look at this thread from about a year and a half ago which pretty well exhausts what constitutes Yale Blue: http://forums.wcha.org/showthread.php?t=418&highlight=yale+blue There are PMS chart numbers (285 seems closest) that match the description (PMS is a Panatone color matching and standardization system): http://www.dynodan.com/image-new/pms-chart.pdf#search="pms 285 color" The Yale website lists their "official Yale Blue" as PMS 289 which looks much darker and more navy blue than anything in the Old Town catalogs. My guess is that is darker because it is the ink color for stationary etc. PMS 285 is also called French Blue in some circles: http://www.flagsource.com/2002/nyloncolors.pdf#search="pms 285 color" George Kirby paint's #19 looks close, but it seems a touch light.
