OT(?) #1852 16

Since I purchased the records I already searched and there is no build sheet for this serial number, assuming it is an OT.

The reason I am unsure is that I have not see the deck / rail caps like this. Any thoughts appreciated.

To clarify...the rail / deck caps AROUND the deck look different / unusual to me as compared to another canoe I have.

That would be a wicked early one.
If you look closely at the deck closeup you can see what appears to be an oval image of a decal.
Given that it has been tweaked, it would be helpful to see some pictures of the seats, thwarts, stems to help true up the ID. It would also be helpful if the images you are posting are resized so that they can be expanded.

Will take some in the am with better light and more detail. What is this "wicked" you speak of...?

One thing i noticed is that the one remaining outer gunwale extends past the stem by about an inch. Looks similar to a canoe Benson picked up at an auction 2007/8.

Dave, here is a better bow on picture. Not sure what cantilevered inwales are though.

Todd, I'm not sure how you have formatted or posted your images? They seem like they have been saved at very low resolution.
The only way that I can expand them is to alter my screen resolution. Generally images posted on this site can be expanded. Did you opt for reduced resolution when you transferred them from your phone? You might be able to transfer them again at actual size to resize them.
Consequently, I am finding it difficult to appreciate what you are describing.
As has been said, it sure looks like an old canoe. It looks Old Townish. And it looks like it's been massaged a bit along the way. To what extent is really hard to see.
Are the tacks copper or brass. Old Old Towns (or Indians) are tacked in copper.
