OOP'S gaurd!

I was screwing the outwales to my newly painted 39 Otca when it occered
to me, what if I slip with the screwdriver, well we all know the outcome
and I quote (#%%7*#@$&#!!!!)!

So I made this simple device to protect the paint, just in case.

I wonder......do you use the fancy new electric drivers ? Ya know, a properly sized tip for the slotted head involved really never slips, especially when one's fingers are guiding the effort. None-the-less a great solution to the problem....Dave

Good idea,
and assuming it's metal, did you put something on the underside so the guard doesn't mark the paint or varnish? (like a layer of cork or felt or??)

What did you make it out of? I need to make one as I have some scrap cork that has been sitting around just waiting to line something.

It's made out of High impact poly styrene 0.060" thick and heat bent to shape
the edges are scraped and rounded so as not to scratch the paint.

And here I was giving you credit for putting a very nice paint job on a piece of sheet metal.
