I recently found this canoe near my home with a "free" sign placed on it.
The canvas was in real bad shape but the wood is in great shape. I would appreciate any info on the boat.

What a great price!

Old Town 182353 is a 16 foot Otca model built during January and February of 1969. It was finished with a keel, painted dark green, and shipped to Ward's S.G.& Marina of Ogdensburg, NY, on March 4, 1970.

A copy of the scan of this build record is attached below. These scans were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See http://www.wcha.org/wcha/ to learn more about the WCHA and http://www.wcha.org/join.html to join.

If you need a cheering squad while you fix up this canoe, we're here... and we like pictures! The boat should reward you in many ways for rescuing her.
