This scan and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your canoe.

Thanks Greg. Maybe you can help me with another Old Town. This one is serial number 92664. It is in very bad shape and I am not sure it can be salvaged. It's out of shape because it was stored on the ground sideways. Lots of cracked ribs and planking. Also the stems are rotten.

Greg seems to be busy at the moment so I will jump in. The Old Town canoe with serial number 92664 is a 17 foot long, CS (Common Sense or middle) grade, HW (heavy water) model with red western cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, oak decks, oak thwarts, oak seats, and a keel. It was built between November, 1926 and April, 1927. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It shipped on April 23rd, 1927 to Duluth, Minnesota. A scan showing this build record can be found by following the link at the attached thumbnail image below.
