Old Town ?

I have a square stern Old Town boat with sponsons that I just received and I'm trying to find what year it was built but having a difficult time of making out the SN#. I think it's either 154463 or 54463 it's the first digit that's giving me problems. Thanks

The canoe you describe is number 154463. Number 54463 was a 17' HW model in CS grade but # 154463 is a 16' square stern which was shipped on 4/12/1951 to Maine. It was built with spruce gunwales, outside stems, sponsons, floor rack, keel, painter ring, row locks and the original color was dark green. A build record is attached.
