That is in really nice shape.
There are HIN decoders available online that confirm what you know, that it is a Johnson Outdoors Old Town. The canoe was manufacture in June of 1989.

The Old Town canoe with hull identification number XTC36626F989 and serial number 336626 was made in June, 1989 for the 1989 model year as MGC mentioned. The scanned serial number build records stop just over 250000 around 1983 so there isn't much more information readily available. Sorry,

If you paddle it in fast moving or whitewater you might be wise to temporarily install a center float bag. When they opted for the cane seats, instead of the hollow rotomolded plastic ones the boats looked nicer, but much of the original flotation was gone. The only flotation it now has is the thin foam core inside of the laminate.
