Old Town Tripper SN 223037

Welcome, the Old Town canoe with serial number 223037 is a 17 foot long Chipewyan Tripper model with aluminum inserts in the rails that weighed 74 pounds. It was built in October, 1978. The original exterior color was green. It shipped on December 15th, 1978 to Spokane, Washington. A scan of this build record can be found below.

This is an acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (or ABS) plastic. The page at the link below has more details about this material. Uniroyal called it Royalex and Old Town called it Oltonar. The pages from the 1978 catalog below have more details. Let me know if this doesn't answer your question.
