Welcome and congratulations, the Old Town canoe with serial number 105478 is 11.5 foot long dinghy that shipped in 1931 so that isn't a good match. My guess is that you may have the canoe with serial number 195478. This is a 17 foot long, Chipewyan Tripper model that weighed 71 pounds. It was built in May, 1973. The original exterior vinyl color was dark green. It shipped on May 16th, 1973 to Freeport, Maine. A scan showing this build record can be found below.
This scan and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will donate, join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See http://www.wcha.org/about-wcha to learn more about the WCHA and https://www.woodencanoe.org/pricing-plans/join to donate or join.
It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match. The full Old Town catalog from 1974 is available from https://adirondack.pastperfectonline.com/Library/C0ACFFDE-A79A-4E23-8183-728343528600 if you want more details. This canoe is listed on page seven. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.
