Was gifted this canoe by an old friend, hoping to find out how old this is, it should be from the 70s or so. Serial #105478
Old Town Tripper Identitication

Welcome and congratulations, the Old Town canoe with serial number 105478 is 11.5 foot long dinghy that shipped in 1931 so that isn't a good match. My guess is that you may have the canoe with serial number 195478. This is a 17 foot long, Chipewyan Tripper model that weighed 71 pounds. It was built in May, 1973. The original exterior vinyl color was dark green. It shipped on May 16th, 1973 to Freeport, Maine. A scan showing this build record can be found below.
