Curious about Wooden Canoes
Hi, an 18' model. with what looks to be factory installed 1/2 ribs ..any ideas of the age??? thanks much!!

The Old Town canoe with serial number 147685 is an 18 foot long, CS (common sense or middle) grade, HW (Heavy Water) model with spruce planking, open spruce gunwales, and half ribs. It was built between February and April, 1947. The original exterior paint color may have been bright red but it left the factory with dark green. It shipped on May 12th, 1947 to Nashville, Tenn.
