18 Foot Old Town Octa with a serial number of 108497. Just picked this up for my family's use and wondering history and specs on it. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Thanks for the info, I appreciate. I was wondering though, how do you go about finding the info about what your specific canoe as made out of, grade, and who is was originally made for by the serial number. I see a lot of people on here have been able to get that information. Do you have to pay a fee?? Pleaese let me know as I would really like to have that info. Thanks!!
