Welcome and congratulations, the title of this thread lists serial number 67772 but your picture shows number 67762 so I will assume that the title has a typographical error. The Old Town canoe with serial number 67762 is a 17 foot long, AA (or top) grade, Otca model with red Western cedar planking, open mahogany gunwales, twenty inch mahogany decks, mahogany thwarts, mahogany seats, a keel, outside stems, and a floor rack. It was built between November, 1921 and January, 1922. The original exterior paint color design was like the one shown on the cover of the 1922 catalog cover. The image at https://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/covers/large-22.gif shows this. It shipped in late February, 1922 to Rochester, New York. A scan of this build record can be found below.

This scan and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will donate, join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See http://www.wcha.org/about-wcha to learn more about the WCHA and http://www.wcha.org/store/membership to join.

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer this description doesn't match the canoe. The link below has more information about how to value a canoe like this. You may also want to compare it to the similar listings at https://www.woodencanoe.org/classifieds in the WCHA classifieds. Please post a picture if the original design is still showing. Feel free to reply if you have any other questions. Good luck,

Benson

I just purchased the canoe from Finger Lakes Boat Museum in Hammondsport, NY. The reason they sold it is that Old Town isn't made in the Finger Lakes region and only those boat manufacturer to that area is in their collection. I came across this boat while visiting and had to buy it. I understand a family in that area donated the boat to them. Mint condition never restored.
Once I pu I'll attach photos.

Burgees are a nice way to dress up your canoe. You have two different flagstaff sockets on this canoe. The diamond-shaped one a type seen on canoes from the era of yours. It probably held a brass flagstaff with an eagle or acorn finial, or just a plain sphere on top:

The bigger flagstaff holder that abuts your canoe's coaming is surely not original (and not pretty).

Flagstaffs were used to display various kinds of burgees, such as this from the 1921 Old Town catalog:

That's so cool..
I'll need to get one
What's throws me off is that the canoe color is dark red, the catalog color is green, that the build sheet said it's the catalog color(green) I wonder why it's red??

New paint is regular maintenance every few years and the colors often change. New canvas every twenty five years in regular use is also common. It is highly unlikely that this canoe still has the original canvas so the color has probably changed several times.
