Old Town Canoe serial number 218248

Any info on this canoe would be greatly appreciated.I posted a previous thread with the wrong serial number.This is the correct number 218248

The answer is the same since the scanned Old Town records stop at 210999 so none of us here have any newer information. You may be able to contact the customer service department at the Old Town Canoe Company and get a copy from the paper records if they are not too busy. Please reply here if they are not able to satisfy your request. There should be a hull identification number on the starboard stern that starts with XTC and ends with a date. The information at http://www.boatsafe.com/nauticalknowhow/hin.htm may help you decode this number. Sorry,

Thank You.I did find the other ID number, it is XTC 18248 M79L

The M79L indicates that it was made in July of 1979.
