Old Town canoe - glued construction??

Canoe nut
This canoe is listed on Craigslist - Hudson Valley, NY again this year.
http://hudsonvalley.craigslist.org/for/4972071493.html

I have emailed the seller twice to get more information, but he has never responded.

This is how the ad reads (in case it gets deleted:
Rare Old Town Wood Canoe - $1200 (Rockland)

Old Town Canoe only made one year and is very rare. Need a coat of boat paint. Extremely light and durable, won't find another one like it.
http://www.oldtowncanoe.com/ has more information, this model was only made for one year due to the cost associated to the glue process.

Not interested in the canoe for myself but curious about it.

I'm assuming it's a failed experiment?

I have spoken with this seller last week and in July of 2013 when it was listed previously. He claims that the serial number has been mostly sanded off and has promised to send me pictures but nothing has arrived yet. The number is amidships and not on the stems where they usually appear on the other known Old Town Weldwood models. See http://forums.wcha.org/showthread.php?1248 for more details about these. My guess is that this is a Weldwood based on the stamp shown below but it was probably not sold by Old Town. Please let me know if anyone is able to get any more information or pictures. Thanks,

Benson
