The Old Town canoe with serial number 82092 is a 17 foot long, AA grade, Otca model with red Western cedar planking, open mahogany gunwales, twenty inch mahogany decks, and mahogany trim. It was built between December, 1923 and May, 1924. The original exterior paint color was similar to the image shown at
http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/designs/design02.gif which was known as design number 2. It was shipped on May 10th, 1924 to Washington, D. C. A scan of this build record can be found by following the link at the attached thumbnail image below.
This scan and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at
http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See

The best sources for restoration information would from
http://virtualbooks.wcha.org/ for a book, a local restorer as listed at
http://www.wcha.org/buildsupply/ by geography, a local WCHA chapter from the list at
http://www.wcha.org/chapters/ or right here in the forums. I would encourage you to test it out to see if it leaks badly. A new coat of paint may be all that you need if it doesn't leak too much and the current exterior surface is reasonably smooth.
It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your canoe. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.
