Old Town #125999

I just acquired Old Town Canoe #125999 and plan to restore it. It is in rough shape and will need a lot of work. My cousin found it in a house be bought a few years ago. It has been stored in a basement since then. He had plans to restore it but never got around to it so he gave it to me to work on. I would like to know when it was built and what features it had. Hi Tom--

Old Town 125999 is a 16 foot, CS ("common sense") grade Yankee model canoe built between December 1938 and March 1939 with birch decks, thwarts, and seat frames. It was fitted with a keel and painted dark green, then shipped to Cleveland Yacht and Supply Company of Cleveland, Ohio on March 30, 1939.

If those specs don't match your canoe, we can try again.

Seems to me there's some interesting info on the Yankee in our archives... if you use the "search" function above, you might discover some more stuff about your canoe.
