Curious about Wooden Canoes
Hello All,

I was hoping I could get some help Identifying my latest acquisition? Length is 16', 32" beam, 12 3/8" depth. 3/8" thick ribs 2 1/4" tapering to 1 1/2" with 2" spacing. Has nice heart shaped convex decks. Originally had sponsons. Seller remembers it being stored unused for the past 50 plus years in their family's garage at the lake. His grandfather bought it some years earlier at an auction of the Edmonton Canoe Club. No serial numbers or trade markings can be seen. Any ideas folks?

Not sure why the pictures aren't uploading. Hmmm.

Nice, looks like a chestnut or peterborough, can you put up some more pics? Stems seats and thwart would be good

Ok, Things seem to be working a lot better this morning. Think computer needed a restart. (just like me some days)

Everything seems to be pointing to a pre-fire Moonlight.

- crowned and deeply undercut deck
- open gunwale
- 16' length, 32" beam
- caned seat attached to inwale

Although some discrepancies:

- Wider cant rib
- 12 3/8" depth

I'm going out later this morning to take a few more pics and measurements.
