Curious about Wooden Canoes
I'm cleaning out a boat shop and storage building that was my father-in-law's. He did a lot of custom wood boat building and restoration. He's gotten senile and no longer remembers what some of this stuff is. I know very little about any of it. So am trying to ID some of the older stuff and get rid of it.
One rack had three "boats" on it. Two are old maybe canvas-over-wood canoes. Thompson or Old Town? The other is something newer built out of strips and very heavy. I have no idea what the heck it is. Any help IDing will be appreciated. If anyone is interested in any of this - will be selling very reasonable (whatever that happens to be). In northern Michigan.

One old canoe is 16' long, 35 1/2" wide in the middle, 12" deep, and has 2" wide ribs.
Another old canoe is 194" long, 31 1/2" wide in the middle, 12" deep, and had 1 3/4" wide ribs.
The newer "thing" is 197 1/2" long, 18" deep, 34" wide at the center, and had a raised boxed platform 4 1/2" high by 10" wide.

The other two canoes appear to be an Old Town HW model, and a strip built canoe still on the form.
