I just purchased this canoe at an estate sale, it appears to be partially rebuilt. Can anyone identify it for me and provide me any additional info. I would like to sell it but need to know more about it. The numbers stamped in the wood are 1492 5514. It is 16' long.
Thanks !

The table at http://dragonflycanoe.com/wood-canoe-identification-guide/peterborough-canoe-company/ indicates that you probably have a Champlain model that was made by the Peterborough Canoe Company in 1956. More knowledgeable people here may be able to offer additional information. The messages at http://forums.wcha.org/showthread.php?57 are the best information about the worth of a canoe like this. The classifieds at http://classifieds.wcha.org/ are often one of the fastest ways to find a good new home for it if you want to sell it. Please mention the WCHA to the buyer if you do sell it. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions. Good luck,

Benson
