Benson is correct. The last two digits of the "no-serie" on your metal deck plate are the year of manufacture. Doesn't seem that any serial number records have survived. For the model, you'll need to measure rough dimensions and compare to the 1974 catalogue that Benson also provided.

By the way, that catalogue mentions on page 2 that "Tremblay Canoes Ltd is the oldest manufacturer of canvas covered canoes in Canada". This is a false marketing claim. Lionel Tremblay and his brothers only began building in St. Felicien in 1928 (well after Chestnut and Peterborough were making canvas canoes in Canada). It remained a small family operation until 1959 when the assets were purchased by a group of unrelated investors. The name "Les Canots Tremblay" as it appears on your tag was registered only in 1960 and the new owners began making all sorts of historic claims to revitalize the business. Your canoe dates to the period right before they moved to a new modern facility in 1975. The move proved very costly and they shut down Tremblay operations just a year later in 1976 so you have a canoe from their final few years of business.

Sometimes, in addition to the metal plate on one deck, these canoes also had a different decal sticker on the other deck. Wondering if your does too?
