Hi All. An old friend of mine bought this wooden canoe from some almost 25 years ago. The story told to me it was hanging over a bar. My friend put the canoe in my basement in 2002. My friend die a year ago last November. I now own the canoe. It needs lots of work. I have no idea if it's homemade, or which company made it. Or how old it is. I haven't found any markings on it. Looks like someone may have put fiberglass on the canoe. It may have been red originally. Thanks for any information. I have no idea what I'm going to do with the canoe.

I haven't seen many 16' canoes with a keelson like this one... other than the UFO for sale recently near me.
Driving locally I saw this canoe out in a yard for sale. Anyone have any ideas on a builder for this one? It's 16' long, has a keelson which looks original and at the stems, the foot of the stem appears to be half-lapped over the keelson. You can see it in the third picture. The owner wants $900 if I remember correctly which seems a lot for this canoe. I've got plenty of canoe work ahead of me so this isn't a project I'm looking for at that price. $300 maybe...!
