Late 50's old town 15' outboard build sheet

I just purchased a late 50's (possibly 1958 or 1959) Old Town 15' Outboard at auction.

The auction listing identified it as a "fisherman" model

It has an authentic Old Town decal on the dash.

The serial number is: 15 168642

I would greatly appreciate any help in locating the build sheet for this boat

Thanks

Hello Gene-- Old Town 168642 is a 15 foot AA (top) grade lapstrake fisherman model boat that was completed March-April 1959, with a keel and floor rack-- and possibly outside stems-- the chicken scratches bleed over a bit, so if you don't see outside stems on your boat, it's just a build-record-stamping problem... OSS look really cute on these boats so perhaps it has them. The boat was painted white with a red copperpac/par bottom. It was shipped April 22, 1959 to Freeport, Long Island, NY. Image of the scan of this record is attached below-- click on it to get a larger image.

This scan and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See http://www.wcha.org/wcha/ to learn more about the WCHA and http://www.wcha.org/join.php to join.

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your canoe. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.

More information on the Old Town Company can be found in Sue Audette's book, Old Town, Our First Hundred Years, which is available through the WCHA store and most booksellers, eBay, Amazon, and public libraries.
