Enthusiastic about Wooden Canoes
As I've been working on the canoe, I've been thinking that I'll have to make paddles too. Picked up a nice 6/4 cherry board for stock. Got the first coat of primer on the canoe last week, so I roughed out a paddle for my 5 year old daughter. It's walnut, about 36" long. Kind of clunky, but good practice for full size paddles. I just sketched out the shape on the board so the proportions are off a bit and needs to be finished. I'll have to make one for my 3 year old next, then one each for my wife and I. Fun project!
