There was a request in the Facebook Fans group for the build records related to the Kennebec with serial number 19020 to be posted here. This is an 16.5 foot, Joy-Boy model with sponsons as shown in the Kennebec records on page 114 of volume three. It was planked by Cameron on May 29th, 1926. The sponsons were attached by Philbrick on June 5th, 1926. Tuttle canvased it on June 26th, 1926. Shaw applied the first filler coat on the same day. Shaw applied the second filler coat on July 3rd, 1926. It was railed by Currie on July 10th, 1926. The original colors were the stock red and green. It shipped to location "26-961" on July 14th, 1926. This location is probably an order number but we don't currently have enough information to identify it. The scans of these build records can be found below. These original Kennebec records are reproduced through the courtesy of the Maine State Museum.

The microfilms and scans of these records were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) as you probably know well. A description of the project to preserve other records like these is available at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will donate, join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See https://www.woodencanoe.org/about to learn more about the WCHA and https://www.woodencanoe.org/shop to donate or join.

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Benson
