Welcome and congratulations, the Old Town with serial number 149376 is a 16 foot long double end boat model in CS (Common Sense or the middle) grade with red Western cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, ash decks, spruce thwarts, spruce seats, outside stems, and a floor rack. It was built between July, 1947 and May, 1948. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It shipped on May 6th, 1948 to Old Forge, New York. The back side of the record shows that there was a previous request for a copy of this record in July of 1979. Scans showing both sides of this build record can be found below.
These scans and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at
http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will donate or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See
https://www.woodencanoe.org/about to learn more about the WCHA and
https://www.woodencanoe.org/shop to donate or join.
It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match. See
https://www.wcha.org/forums/index.php?threads/serial-number-search.15866/#post-80142 for a similar boat. The sail rig appears to have been added after this boat left the factory. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions,
Benson
