Also, what kind of wood in the 30's was used for the inwales and outwales?

Page 13 of the 1931 Kennebec catalog at the link below says "Rails and seats are either white spruce and oak or dark, rich mahogany. depending upon the type." Their 1930 catalog had a similar wording on page 5.
