Introduction

I believe I'm a member but I couldn't find where etiquette requires I place my first post, so here I am. I used this site to find information on shipping a canoe cross country. I bought a 1985 Old Town Guide 16 a wood and fiberglass model, and I just emailed Kas Transport. I shall see what happens now.

Thank you. Kindred Spirits are hard to find. My friend Dave owns OKC Kayak and has agreed to have it picked up and delivered to his shop. It's a late production '85 Old Town and my first and possibly last wood canoe.
Thanks for the welcome. Very nice site.

Hi Robert, welcome and nice canoe! You mentioned its a first wooden canoe and most likely your last. Let me just say that these things should come with warning labels. I think all of us at some point thought I'll just fix up this one and then years later and many many more wooden canoes, looked back and realized they don't like to be alone. Good luck with this one being your last ha.
Enjoy the adventure. Gary
