The Old Town canoe with serial number 132385 is a 17 foot long, CS (common sense or standard) grade HW (heavy water) model with open spruce gunwales, ash seats, decks and thwarts, and equipped with outside stems and a keel. It was built between April 1941 and May 1942. The original exterior paint color was guide special green . It was shipped to May's Landing, New Jersey on May 23, 1942. This scan and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details.
