How to possibly repair canvas

Hi, welcome to the forum.
If that were my canoe I would be expecting to re-canvas it, at least based upon the photo that you have provided.
It's not a big deal to do and well within the capabilities of anyone who is somewhat handy.
Materials are readily available from a host of folks who advertise on this site.
Help may also be available from WCHA local chapter members. (where are you located?)
Several books sold on the WCHA site will provide some direction and you may also find Youtube channel video showing how it's done.
Usually when a canvas starts to look like yours does the rest of the boat is also ready for some sprucing up. The wood should be sanded and varnished at the same time you canvas it. Pulling the canvas off provides you with a nice opportunity do that.

Form follows function. If you are going to use the canoe, put it in the water and see if it leaks. If it doesn't leak, don't worry about it. If the cracks bother you, sand the hull with 220 grit wet/dry and repaint. The cracks will come back fairly quickly. If you want to win at a boat show, re-canvas.
