Hi Jeff--
Old Town 162330 is a 16 foot AA grade (mahogany trimmed) Otca model, fitted with a keel and sponsons. It was painted design #37 and the name "Susan" was placed on the left bow and right stern (maybe a nice b-day present?) before it was shipped off to Charles B. Chapman, MD, of Welch, West Virginia on December 3, 1954. (I suppose it could have been a holiday gift...).
Scan of the record is attached below. Scans of approximately 210,000 records were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. Additional information about the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details.
I seem to recall you've joined the WCHA, but others reading this who have not are encouraged to do so, or to make a tax deductible contribution so that services like this can continue.
