Thanks for posting this. Some day Glen Canyon Dam will be taken out.
I have been down the Grand Canyon from Lee's Ferry to Pearce Ferry which is 286 miles, but in a J rig. It took a week with an outboard. It costs about $3,000 all inclusive.
A dory trip takes 3 weeks and costs $ 7-8,000 . A private trip takes years to wait in line, and not everyone has a big dory.
I used to have a wood drift boat 16 feet in length. On rivers too swift for canoes it was like flying.
I am back on the forum now, after taking the canvas off my 1951 Old Town Guide 18.
