Anything like that which follows you all the way home really needs to be restored. See the story of Bits & Pieces by Fred Capenos starting on page 9 of the Wooden Canoe Journal issue number 155 for a similar canoe that later sold for $2500 at the WCHA auction.

It's possible. I've done a couple. But it ain't easy.

Looks to be a little past prime. Unless you find a the Hope Diamond wedged under the seat I'd say have a cook out.
 
I was asked if I was interested in it. When I looked at it i said i would hall it of if the Cox trailer it was sitting on came with it. With new trailers going for over $1,000.00 I have gotten into restoring old trailers along with canoes.
Good looking job Dave !! I have done some almost as bad but they had a fat wallet behind them. The mold this canoe saw built on is in our museum here in Grand Lake. I could borrow it and build a new one cheaper than restoring this one.
When i got to the dump with it I was not alone Spring cleaning
