fun with strippers!

Andre Cloutier

Firestarter. Wicked Firestarter.
The chemical kind, after teak brightener. Now to varnish, cane and enjoy.
Bad shot of a framework i welded up and put on casters, great for washing off stripper and brightener and moving around for work.

Thanks Michael,
you might not get too jazzed about it though, its 16' cedarstrip built in the late '70s at Burleigh Falls, Ontario. I got it used when I was 15 and it needs refinishing, I'm doing it up in memory of my late Father. It had ash coamings and kingplanks with dome head screws, along with oak and babiche seats. Not terribly pretty, but I've milled walnut for replacements to go over the butternut decks, and I've built cherry seats to cane that will go with the cherry thwart. Now for the final prep and 6 or 7 coats of Captains, inside and out...

Thanks Steve, just sanding 2 runs:mad: out of the 5th hull coat and fitting the new walnut coamings and kings, seats are in and floorboards next. Candadian filler is curing, then its paint and gunwales and off to paddle...Have you put Killbear on your calendar for the fall?
