filler problems

Hello everyone ; I have encountered a problem and am looking for some guidance. On 6/18 I applied a filler I purchased from Northwoods. Here it is the 24th and I have noticed a large area that was not covered well and needs to be coated. The people at Northwods told me I am screwed that can't apply another coat over these areas.

Does anyone have a suggestion how I can finish this with out ripping the canvas off.

I would let the filler cure and then paint the area with a high build marine primer. I have used Epifanes mono fil with some luck. Then I would make an offering to the canoe gods. Mike.....
