To my eye, that image was not taken in NH or anywhere else here on the East coast. Look at the swim suit worn by the adult. That is a very typical European style that does not play here. I remember being stunned to see my grandfather in such attire......I can't unsee the image.
And, the style of construction of those buildings. Not from NH or anywhere else on our coast. That picture was taken in Europe.
Whoever permitted all of those kids to climb into that canoe on shore was oblivious to how to care for such a boat. Wow.

to MGC , I dont know about bow windows like them , and also about electric pole also like them
an the "water ring" on paddle is not french (I dont know how translate that )
yes the undies for swimming are out of time , we had the same by the past
for John Stand, i'ts wrote Fauvette (a little bird)
my family by this side of the sea have the name Michno , from Poland, so it's an other bottle at the sea
I refind a few of them 2 years ago after 60 years , this part of poland was german , russian an today bélarus
thank you for watching

thank you Tood , 65 years at the end of the year for me , I began to speak englisk at school à 11-12 and today it the common language with my japanese wife when she dont understand my little japanese language or for her when I don't recognise her "french" words , it's not perfect , but it's run since 15 years ...;) so posting here is very interesting for me but also for the brain

Dom, the "water ring" on a paddle is usually called a "drip ring". But only used on double paddles of course. So maybe the guy in the picture was a solo paddler.

I remember being stunned to see my grandfather in such attire......I can't unsee the image. That was my morning laugh.
Mike, in both the auction business and as a claims adjuster, our advise for younger generations is should you find hidden photos or video tapes in your parents or grandparents homes, dont watch em.

thank you Worth Gretter and "nail smith " :) by the 50' and 60' this is a simply undies
at this moment no problem , today you must have that and that ...........

Hmmm...yes. Sound advice. I had no recourse. He took us swimming once in Berlin. It haunts me to this day, 60 years later.
Dom, the drip ring on the paddle is nothing unusual. I have them on an old double Klepper paddle that has been stuffed in my rafters for a bazillion years. I would bet money that your image is from somewhere in Europe.

thanks a lot , it's a real enigma to have this picture with other , as far I remember , I never see this picture (the canoe is in my blood)
my grand pa pass over so it's a picture who return in family box pictures , but I never see it before
