Just got back from a Winter trip to Ely. As part of their Winter Festival they have an Art Walk with hundreds of local works displayed in merchant's windows. Piragis Northwoods had this beautiful display of three of Eric's models. Hope you all enjoy.

Last spring at the Sivertson Gallery in Grand Marais there were two bark model canoes - an ojibwe recurved stem design, I believe, and something like an HBC fur trading bark canoe. May they have been Mr. Mase's Work as well? (I believe he teaches at the Folk Art School there).

Always amazed by the model builders...

I can certainly vouch for the workmanship and quality of Eric's birch bark models. I have three in my own collection - Mi'kMaq saling canoe, Maliseet river canoe and Beothuk (see below), the first two of which are presently on display at the Canoe Museum, Peterborough, ON.
