caning

Why was i intimidated by caning for so long? Dont really know, actually fun when it gets going. Circa 1916 Canadian Canoe Company seat, before binder cane. ( too much flash though..)

Nice job. My first caned canoe seat took me about 8 hours. Now I can do one easily in 4. Please forgive me for noting that the orginal Chestnut , Peterborough and Canadian Canoe Company seat pattern was a little different than yours. See picture attached. Note that there were 2 horizontal and perpendicular strands per hole and only one strand per hole crossways EXCEPT the 4 end holes. Hope this makes sense and helps a little.
