Thanks! It's been in my family for several generations so I'm excited to learn about it's origin.
Can you please help me out with info on Old Town #156887 16

The Old Town canoe with serial number 156887 is a 16 foot long, CS (Common Sense or middle) grade, Yankee model with red western cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, and a keel. It was built between December, 1951 and April, 1952. The original exterior paint color was fire red. It was shipped on April 14th, 1952 to West Haven, Conn. This scan and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others.
