Build record on # 192825-15

This is a canoe with an unusual history. The Old Town canoe with serial number 192825 is a 15 foot long featherweight model with Dacron in place of canvas, and a keel. This was built between January, 1973 and September, 1974. It shipped on September 27th, 1974 to Wayzata, Minnesota. The original exterior paint color was pale blue then it was repainted red. It returned to the factory on February 10th, 1975 to be repaired and sold. The Dacron was replaced with fiberglass which converted it to a Trapper model. It shipped to Newbury, Massachusetts on December 16th, 1976. They sold it on April 25th, 1977 and it went to Beverly, Massachusetts. There was a phone call requesting information from this record from South Hamilton, Massachusetts on August 11th, 1981. Scans showing both sides of this build record can be found below.

These scans and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others as you probably know well. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will donate, join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See https://www.woodencanoe.org/about to learn more about the WCHA and https://www.woodencanoe.org/shop to donate or join.

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if these descriptions don't match the canoe. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.
