Old wooden canoes are undervalued and people are always finding new ways to monetize them but the eBay auction at the first link below caught me by surprise. It appears that there may be a market for serial numbers from canoes. The seller's date is off by over twenty years but I am not planning to tell them. They may have gotten the idea after someone bought a piece of the canvas from the same canoe as shown in the second link below. The build record and a picture of the numbers in the original canoe are attached for reference. What next?
