AA floor rack

I am restoring an Old Town HW, 18' circa 1932, this canoe is a AA with mahogany decks, thwarts, inner & outer gunwales. The original order includes a floor rack, which is missing. Did all AA canoes have mahogany floor racks?

No, floor racks were optional and usually made of spruce and cedar, even in AA grade canoes. I've seen a few in mahogany but these are not common. See http://forums.wcha.org/showthread.php?360-Nice-Rack&p=1788#post1788 for more details about one that I once had from 1936. Good luck,

Thank you for your quick reply. This is good information, I already have spruce slats milled from another floor rack I had constructed!
