20ft, Freighter Canoe Build

Enthusiastic about Wooden Canoes
Here's some pictures from a customer that is building a 20ft freighter canoe that I designed. The mold is set up with the keelson, stem and transom and ready for stripping. I'll add more pictures as the build progresses.

Me likey! What a totally disgustingly clean workshop....:D My wife had an MRI a couple years ago when her back was hurting and the room they did it in wasn't that clean. I wonder if another one would fit through my window?

Thier shop is great. Tons of space and light. I built my 18 footer in my 10'x25' uninsulated garage in January.
Nice pictures! Looks like child birth pictures.

Looks like a building eating a canoe.
I was also very suspicious of the building space.
My thought was the shop was at the Centers For Disease Control Decontamination room.
Or an art studio. I inwardly covet that cleanliness, while outwardly I cajole. I conclude it is going to be an awesome canoe.

Your not far off on the art studio. Thier business is making stretcher frames for canvas and they use the space where the boat is to stretch very large canvas. Hence the wheels on the mold and the clean shop space

stopping back in

My wife says that alot. I generally do not know the answer myself. I think it's my futile attempt at humor. Blame it on the heat.

new pics
almost to the fun part

Just got these pictures from the builders. They finished stripping her today and they are ready to start taking all the temporary fasteners out.

Hi

I'm enjoying the thread. The work space is that of a diabolically clean workman. I on the other hand am at the other end of the spectrum.

they are in get the job done mode. all the glass is on

Wow it's almost done..I like the pics above,,It was great.

Well, the outside is almost done. There's a bit of work left to do. I think they'll have her off the mold this week. they're going to install the keel and the ouwales, and paint her before they flip her over.
