The Old Town canoe with serial number 202018 is a 16 foot long Guide model with a keel. It was built between June, 1974 and June, 1975. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It shipped on July 22nd, 1975 to Sacramento, California. It was damaged in shipment and returned on October 14th, 1975. The repairs required 6.5 hours and made it a second grade (#2) as shown on the back side of the card. It was then shipped to Martinsburg, West Virginia on August 2nd, 1976. Scans of both sides of this build record can be found by following the links behind the thumbnail images attached below.
These scans and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others as you probably know well. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at
http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See
http://www.wcha.org/about-the-wcha/ to learn more about the WCHA and
http://store.wcha.org/WCHA-New-Membership.html to renew.
It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your canoe. The slotted bolts, aluminum stem bands, and canvas staples are all probably original. The images below show a similar one from this era with the same. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions,
