1st post, Back issue with Dacron covering?

Hello folks,

This is my first post. I just joined WCHA. I live in Decatur , Ga if anyone is around would enjoy meeting others in my area.

My question: I have aquired an Old Town Otca 16', and I would like to use Dacron as a cover. I know there is a back issue that has information on this. Does anyone know what issue this is?

There are 50 back issues of the Wooden Canoe Journal which reference dacron and a quick search of these fourms show 84 messages here that do. The article you want is probably issue number 142 which has an article titled "Dacron–A Canvas Alternative" by Alex Comb which starts on page four. The messages at http://forums.wcha.org/showthread.php?t=3111 may also be helpful. You can also search for Ceconite and Cecofill which eliminates most of the references to sails.
