1953 Peterborough Prospector

Urban Boatbuilders in St. Paul is restoring a 1953 Peter borough 16' Prospector which we received without outwales. Does anyone know the wood species of outwales on this canoe? Serial number is 6000 1492. Any information will be appreciated. Thanks!

My guess would be Ash outwales.

Spruce or Ash, what is the inner rail made of? would be same.

If I’m not mistaken, the 1492 in your canoe identification number may refer to a Champlain model rather than a Prospector.
