1941 Old Town model identification serial 146636

To all,
First I just wanted to say Thank you!

Attached is pictures from a 1941 Old Town 16ft serial 146636 16 and I'm looking for assistance with identifying the model of this canoe. One thing that I thought was strange was the seats in the canoe, they are not cane would these be Old Town optional seat type?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the WCHA!

Those are the typical WW2 era seats, as cane was in short supply.

Someone will be along with the actual build record, but I believe the 146xxx series are just a bit later than 1941... 1945-46-ish. I think...

Also note the steel tacks...brass were in short supply.

Welcome, the Old Town canoe with serial number 146636 is a 16 foot long, CS (Common Sense or middle) grade, Otca model with open spruce gunwales, ash decks, ash thwarts, ash seats, and a keel. It was built between September and December, 1946. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It shipped on January 21sth, 1947 to Rochester, New York.
